Home Invade is a Generic Call Incident featured in 911 Operator. This call has only one storyline, in which two Polish immigrants call in to report - in broken English - a cyclist who has been impaled on a steel rod near an old factory.
As a Generic Call, Impaled Cyclist may be triggered at any time during Free Play mode.
During Career play, it will only occur once.
Opening Lines[]

Caller | "Hello. Because here we have a problem." |
Plot 1[]
(This call has only one possible plot-line.)
Summary[]
The caller is a Polish man named Andrzej Nowak, speaking in broken English, explaining that he and his friend Janusz Kowalski have come across a man impaled on a steel rod at some old factory. Checking the man, they find him still breathing and moving.
Andrzej and Janusz offer to try to remove the man from the rod, but the operator quickly stops them from doing so, as this could exacerbate his injury. Instead, he asks Andrzej to send Janusz to the main road and direct the ambulance to the impaled cyclist's location.
Finally, the operator sends police, an ambulance and a fire engine to the location. The firefighters cut the rod, allowing the medics to save the impaled man's life. Andrzej and Janusz are both questioned by the police, but immediately let go.
On Site[]
- Upon arrival, units find the caller, his friend, and the impaled cyclist. Andrzej and Janusz must be questioned by the police, but not arrested.
- The Impaled Cyclist is always Heavily Injured. He must be quickly treated before he dies, and taken to hospital.
- If Andrzej was instructed to leave the Cyclist impaled while waiting for the ambulance, the Impaling Rod must first be removed by firefighters before the Cyclist can be helped.
- If Andrzej was instead instructed to remove the Cyclist from the rod, the Impaling Rod element will already be resolved when units arrive on site, and the Cyclist can be helped immediately. However, depending on whether or not Andrzej was told to stop the bleeding himself, the Cyclist may or may not bleed out before medics can finish treating him.

Optimal Conversation[]
This call has two possible outcomes, depending on a single decision made about halfway through. While one is considered the "bad" solution by the After-Action Report (and would be incorrect for a real-world 911 operator to choose), it is actually more beneficial to select that option in the game.
This refers to the decision to tell Andrzej to remove the cyclist from the rod. The "correct" decision here is to warn Andzrej not to do so, while the decision to remove the Cyclist from the rod is seen as the "bad" option. Doing so does, briefly, greatly exacerbate the cyclist's bleeding. However, not only can the excess bleeding be fixed almost immediately with another dialog option (actually making it less severe than it originally was!), but it also immediately resolves the Impaling Rod element, which means that there's no need to send any firefighters. This is a huge advantage, easily offsetting the brief period of excess bleeding.
The dilemma and both of its potential outcomes are outlined in the Optimal Conversation transcript below.
Choices to Avoid[]
In practice, the only "negative" outcome occurs by selecting WAIT
or YOU CAN GO
, which ends the conversation before the final +1 Reputation can be awarded.
If you really want to avoid a single "bad" throw-away line on the After-Action Report, don't tell Andrzej to PICK HIM UP
. However that solution is actually a little better than the "canon" solution, as explained above.
